I am sitting on the park bench, gazing at the beautiful autumn leaf laying on the mud below. The brownish orange color leaves covers the trail and pathways. It’s beautiful today and winters are fast approaching. I sense a cold breeze brushing against my ears. People are walking past me, running, jogging, looking around, holding hands and in love!

And amidst the crowd I sat there, looking at the faces going by, hoping to see you today, for the magic to happen. I have been sitting there for an hour now. Wishing you would see me today.

I am reminded of your face, that darn cute face, with deep brown eyes to die for. I am still infatuated at the first sight of you. Such a delight.

I am eager to meet you again, to look at those eyes, to be lost in them, to see you smile, your lovely face, imbuing happiness, love, laughter.

Sometimes I wonder why am I so drawn towards you? Is it you, your eyes, or that devilish cute smile of yours? Or something else?

I am eagerly waiting for you as the heartbeats rush to see you. You are nowhere to be seen. I am restless as time passes. I fidget my legs, and cannot wait anymore to see you. I want to come rushing at you, at your door, to be in your embrace and hold you in arms and never want to let you go.

I am looking at the dusky sky, spreading all the red, orange yellow hues making the sky pink. Little feathery clouds paving the way for the sun rays soaking them in.

I turn my eyes to the crowd and I see you in your blue jacket, walking down the footway. I watch you coming near me, your beautiful big eyes, shining, wanting for something that you never had, was it love, was it something, an emotion or was it a person, or was it magic?

What were you looking for? I wish I could give you everything, be your magic that is missing.

I look at you astounded, you pass me by and my eyes don’t leave you. They want to be with you, just like the leaves to the trees. I am the autumn leaf, never meant to be with you, but astray. I watch you go, and in the moments I stole, I knew I was in love with you.
